Emma & Becoming Jane Austen

According to Jane Austen, her most favorite book is "Emma" which is about three girls, trying to find their real love in the village of Highbury in England they are living.

Emma is 21 years old, beautiful and privileged young woman. She is living with her father and neighbours; Mr and Mrs Weston, Mr George Knightly, Jane Fairfax, Harriet Smith, Mr and Mrs Elton, Mr Frank Churcill and Miss Bates.
She likes matchmaking, but not for herself. She never thinks to marry, but the book has a happy ending as usual in Jane Austen style :)
It is really enjoyable for me to read old English conversations, manners and thoughts-and also listen to English accent.
Jane Austen is one of my favorite writers.
Yesterday, I watched "Becoming Jane Austen" with the cast Anne Hathaway and James MacAvoy. It is good to watch a part of Jane Austen's life, but indeed I did not like the movie so much. I think it is a little bit uninspired or facile. I am sorry...
but thank you Jane Austen... :)

I, Mona Lisa

1478, april...
middle of middle ages...
medici's; the family who had started renassaince, had very dark clouds hanging over...
a horrible murder, a big love, lots of betrayals, ignorance...

florence...
very far away from today's touristic, shining life...
art was forbidden, "black death" was everywhere, the city's name was called one of the biggest sins.

people who liked arts, were being killed or burned.
the city was locked inside through the life outside...

a woman.
mona lisa.
her destiny was bloody, painful but passionate, standing against the destiny, bold..

and leonardo.
indulges in art.
risked everthing for art.

and that painting.
a smile; hundreds of questions inside.

I was impressed by this book when I read it.
Sometimes, I couldn't believe the igrorance and bigotry, which scared me. Most of the nights, I couldn't leave this book. Moreover, I dreamed about the book :)

If you like to read historical books, I can recommend this very proudly :)

god on harley

I am definitely like my mother...definitely...
I remember clearly that when I was a child, in summer when my mother was on holiday, we were sleeping for a couple of hours in the afternoons, but before sleeping, we took our books and were reading few pages.
Now I am 30, my mother still reads.. now slowly, she is preparing to retire and she is buying new books permanently, she is saving books for her free life :) While she is showing me her new books, she loves them all like babies :)
according to these genes, I am pretty like that, too :) I am trying to read in a bus, in my all free times etc. I love my books so much...

"God on Harley" is one of my latest books that I read.

writer's name is Joan Brady.

a nurse, Christine Moore, thirty seven years old, fat, does not like her life very much anymore. she returns to her ex-boyfriend with a last hope, but she notices that he is married, even if he never approved marriage while he is with Christine.
Christine is pissed off!
and finds herself in a bar, drinking and drinking...

at this time, in the bar a man looks at her very carefully, this is the man who will change her life forever with his godlike thoughts!

I think sometimes all of us need someone who will say "you can change everthing you want, you are the part of God!". and also imagine that this person is really God and talks to you!

This book is a good break for life ;)

dewey

This is the library cat that touches world's heart: Dewey...
a vicki myron book...
a life, a little heart, trying not to frozen in a box of a library in a small town of USA, then saving by good people who knows the value of a "breath"...

this little breath belongs to a little cat, then named Dewey, because its new home is a library and Dewey is a classification system used in public libraries.
this book shows us that a cat can help people, children to love libraries, books or reading. even if we can not talk the same language and do anything under advertisement :)
while I was reading this book, my eyes filled with tears. It is a special real life story that has to be read.

I have two cats, I can understand what a cat or any other living thing can make many differences in a human being's life. It is really special.
So,
love animals,
love books...
:)
